| Composites USA has received a number of safety awards, including many from industry (see the DuPont plaque in the past project/ end user section), several from the Society of Plastics Industries (SPI) and the State of Delaware, shown on the following pages. By any measurement, our safety performance numbers are better than national averages. We have received credits off our Workman's Compensation insurance (the maximum credit allowed by the state) for the past four years as a result of this performance.
A copy of the Safety Policy and the index from our Safety Manual follows. The full manual is available for review, if desired, at Composites USA. Copies of our program have been twice requested by OSHA so they can use it as an example for other companies to follow. During a voluntary (requested) OSHA inspection a couple of years ago, the OSHA inspector commented that our facility/ program was among the five best he had ever seen !
Regular safety meetings are held for all company employees. Typical training covers items generally of concern to our customers in the CPI, including hazardous communication, confined space entry, lock out/ tag out, proper use of PPE including respirators, fire safety and so on. All employees participate in the company drug testing program, and independent, confidential counseling is available for any that feel they need it.
