Fiberglass control consoles provide a corrosion resistant option with molded in color for process plant use. Seamless construction eliminates corrosion on edges. Light weight, inherent resistance to electrical current, ease of field modification to locate panel instruments and penetrations, as well as a virtually unlimited number of color options are all reasons to consider fiberglass. Shown are front and end views of standard size control panels available from Composites USA. Custom sizes and geometries are also available.
Typical Specifications:
Control consoles shall be fabricated in female molds resulting in smooth external finish with pigmented gel coat, using corrosion grade polyester resin and fiberglass. All corners to be molded with radiused reinforced corners. Doors are to be flush mount with quarter turn locking stainless steel hardware.
The console is to be designed for the loads imposed by instrument mounting with a maximum deflection of ½% of span. Design is to be supported by engineering calculations by a staff mechanical engineer experienced in fiberglass structural design.
