| Composites USA is an engineering based manufacturing company specializing in the design, manufacture and installation of corrosion-resistant fiberglass products. Started in 1982 by experienced fiberglass professionals, our manufacturing and support capabilities have seen continued investment and expansion.
Engineering at Composites USA focuses on two primary objectives: command of composite fiberglass structural design issues, and understanding chemical processes. Our Quality Process ensures that customers receive world class goods and services to meet their increasingly demanding needs.
To that end, the Composites USA engineering team is staffed with chemical and mechanical engineers, including licensed P.E.'s. The expertise this team brings to projects includes hands-on experience in designing, building and start-up of chemical process plants, as well as designing complex laminate structures for highly stressed aerospace, aviation, nuclear and chemical plant projects.
Quality Assurance is a total team effort beginning with development of project specifications with our customers, manufacturing to proven in-house standards, using pre-qualified and tested raw materials, and final product testing as required prior to shipment. Complete in-house physical property test capabilities sets Composites USA apart from most of our competitors. Outside audits of our Quality Process allow Composites USA to certify products to Factory Mutual (FM) or Mil Spec (Mil-I-45208) requirements.
Manufacturing capabilities include filament winding, hand lay-up, vacuum, and resin transfer molding. Our experience with a wide range of resin systems, including phenolic, vinyl ester, polyester, epoxy, furan, and emerging space-age thermosets, allow customized solutions for individual needs. When considered necessary due to the process corrosion requirements, Composites USA can provide thermoplastic fabrications or thermoplastic lined dual laminates.
Turnkey project support, utilizing Composites USA construction personnel, is available anywhere in the world. All Composites USA field mechanics have been fully trained in the art and the science of proper fiberglass laminating and secondary bonding techniques. In addition, all field mechanics have received extensive training in safety procedures, including working safely in hazardous chemical plant environments. Composites USA has received numerous state, customer and industry awards related to its overall safety performance. |
